Fun on the 4th at Soper Park; Hosted by Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce. Children's games begin at 9:00 am with Big Wheel and trike races, water balloon throwing contest and foot races. FUEL Emmetsburg will be hosting a sand volleyball tournament and bean bag toss tournament following the children's games. Burt Summer Celebration; Annual town celebration with city-wide garage sales starting at 7:00 am. Coffee and rolls served at the Complex from 8:00 am to 10:00 am with a community prayer service at 9:00 am. The parade begins at 11:00 am with a BBQ to follow at 12:00 pm. Free afternoon entertainment, sand volleyball tournament, free inflatable games and carnival games, free swimming, annual toilet and tank top toss. Kids pedal tractor pull at 4:30 pm with live bands in the evening. Russell Lachney will start at 6:00 pm followed by the band 'Past Vertical'. The Burt Fire Department will have a beverage garden and food will served in the evening by the Kossuth County Fair Board. The Fire Department will have a fireworks display at 10:00 pm. RAGBRAI in Emmetsburg; All are invted to 'Get Lucky in Emmetsburg' as they host RAGBRAI XLII for an overnight stay in true Irish fashion. Bycyclists arrive early for a day of fun and entertainment. Brian Boru Band, One Layne Band, Classical Blast and Johnny Holm Band all playing beginning at 3:00 pm at Soper Park on the south shore of Five Island Lake.
