2016 Intern Networking Luncheon
The Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation’s Intern Program is in its 18th year of existence under the direction of Maureen Elbert, and the Intern Networking Luncheon once again proved to be a great experience. This year there were over 40 interns from area businesses in Kossuth and Palo Alto counties that were involved in the many opportunities and training sessions K/PACEDC has to offer.
This year’s program took the theme, “Adapting into the Future”. K/PACEDC’s goal for the program is to provide opportunities to expand leadership, meet area business leaders, network, and underline the importance of volunteerism. On Wednesday, July 13, CEOs and interns across Kossuth & Palo Alto Counties gathered for the annual Intern Networking Luncheon at the KC Hall in Algona. Interns then had the opportunity to visit with the area CEOs and business leaders in roundtable discussions. They discussed topics such as effective communication, job candidates’ online presence, and the importance of finding one’s passion and pursuing it. The CEO’s gave examples on how internships and networking can help them succeed in the future.
Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development and the summer Interns want to extend a special thank the business leaders that took the time to participate in this event and to the companies that have invested in their futures by giving them the opportunity to excel within their communities.
